This post is long overdue I know I know, however I thought I would do it anyways. I am very sceptical when it comes to subscription boxes and thought I would try one out and see if it was worth it....
This particular Birchbox was a special edition one as the company were celebrating their fifth birthday! I especially love the box it came in, like a vintage biscuit tin which was very unique when I first opened it up.
To celebrate the occasion, they gave a discount code for the Birchbox online store along with some Whittards speciality tea bags, which you all know I am a huge lover of tea especially after I tried T2 and their specialist tea's (blogpost link here). I loved the 'Mango & Bergamot' plus 'Lemon & Ginger ' flavoured tea's by Whittards, wasn't really a fan of the 'Earl Grey' but not many people are as it is quite a uniquely strong flavour....
Moving on to the beauty products which were involved in this month, I love the mini sample sizes! This is one of the main reasons I like subscription boxes, because of the tiny packaging for each and every product. I will now be reviewing each product from left to right.
Polaár Velvety Sun Fluid • Face & Body
This was a perfect product to be sent out to me especially during this heatwave we have been experiencing. I love wearing this on its own on my face and neck or even underneath makeup, however, I have not been wearing any skin makeup this summer and just letting it breathe plus take in the vitamins from the sun!
High Performance Hair Care Smoothing Balm
I haven't used this yet as I don't really use hair products so might just be giving it away to someone, however it sounds pretty decent!
GLAMGLOW Supercleanse
The famous Hollywood skincare brand which I have always wanted to try?! I was so excited to receive this but, once I did a patch test on my hand it wasn't suited to my sensitive skin unfortunately, so I had to give it away. That's not to say it might not work for someone else as this brand has some amazing reviews by beauty guru's out there.
Benefit The Pore-Fessional Pearl Primer
This is another product I was glad to have received. I have tried the original Pore-fessional which was mattifying and smoothing, but this one leaves a nice sheen on top too. The packaging is also to die for, so cute!
Ella Eden Cosmetics • Loose eyeshadow
Last but not least, a loose eye-shadow pigment by a brand I have never even heard of before. Its a lovely pink shade perfect for the summertime and I am looking forward to creating some art on my eyelid with it soon....
Overall, I would rate this box an 8 out of 10. Purely because, two of the products were not really my thing, however, they did include a nice mixture of things to trial and test so I would still recommend this subscription box for anyone wanting to try some new beauty products.
I hope you guys enjoyed this review. Have you tried Birchbox before or will you be doing so? Do you have any other subscription box recommendations?
